The Political Science department came into existence with the establishment of the college (1997). Since its inception, the department has been consistently engaged in the qualitative teaching using all the available resources and produced human resources of enough competence to serve for the country. As the college became the constituent part of University of Allahabad in 2005, the department of Political Science had adopted updated syllabus and gained consistent assistance, guidance and direction from time to time by the parent department of the University. Since 2016-17 session, a Post-graduation course has been introduced in this discipline and three successive batch have been cleared with good academic score. In the session of 2019-20 the department has achieved another feather in its cap when it attained the approval of Ph.D. and eight research scholar have been admitted to the department. The department has organized various national and international seminars and lectures, symposium to create a congenial academic environment in the College. To mention as few, it has organized three national seminars on topics of “ Rajnitik mulya aur mulyo ki rajniti” (1998) “ building a nuclear free zone world” (2007) and “ Lessons and legacy of 1857, (2008). The research papers submitted in these seminars have been published in the conference proceedings. The department has also organized various lectures each year commemorating the Gandhi Jayanti, National education day, Constitution day and Human rights day. It is through the collective efforts of the faculty members of the department and consistent encouragement of the then head of the institution that the department could garner these achievements. Our future endeavour is to convert the political Science department into a center for excellence for providing higher standards of teaching-learning experience for the students.
