The department is running in the College since its establishment. Initially, it was being run by Single faculty, Manju Singh Chauhan. After her resignation, Dr A K Jaiswal took the Charge in the Department followed by Mrs. Deepti Kumar, joining after the sanction of second post. Till then, The department was running successfully under the able guidance of Dr Jaiswal. A well equipped laboratory of Botany was established under his able administration and teaching. Currently, the department is running UG courses; though PG courses are also sanctioned. The department has submitted a proposal for Ph.D. courses as well. Annually, the department organizes various extracurricular activities under the banner of departmental association such as quiz competition, poster competition, visit to botanical places, Visit to scientific laboratory, etc. Currently the department has two faculty, Mrs Deepti Kumar (Convener) and Dr Pratap Srivastava.
