The Physical Education Department was established in the year 2018. The department has established itself as one of the premier centers for the study of Physical Education, exercise science and sport. The department offers a huge range of options by involving students in different forms of sports. The department imparts knowledge in such a way that offers understanding of movement, health, sport, physical, Yoga and outdoor education. The programmes in the department enable students to develop and improve generic life skills: thinking, questioning, reflecting, evaluating, team work and communicating. These are the skills desired and sought by employers of todays and tomorrow’s graduates. The Department strives to inculcate appropriate values qualities required to develop sport persons and Physical Education professionals at various levels. The Physical Education department provides holistic development to students. It organizes and participates in various level inter-collegiate and inter-veracity, all India University and international levelsports activities for the students: cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, chess, kabaddi, softball, baseball and athletics. Since its inception, the department is growing with leaps and bounce under the leadership of Dr. Virendra Singh, convener of the department with rich academic and sports backgrounds. He has a tremendous experience of studying in four Universities of the country including LNIPE, Gwalior, University of Allahabad, Tamilnadu Physical Education and Sports Univeristy Chennai, and AMU, Aligarh. He has published more than 17 research papers in reputed national and international journals and published two books and one chapter in an edited book. He has also attended so many national, international seminars, workshops, presented papers and chaired the sessions.
